Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for an extended travel assignment in Escanaba, MI. The OT will review histories, evaluate needs, and develop treatment plans while working a 40-hour week on day shifts.

Must have 1 year of experience (6 months may suffice for exceptional candidates) plus BLS and NBCOT-OTR and state licensing. New grads invited to apply; travel stipend and tax considerations apply as per assignment.

Qualifications

• Physically capable of standing, walking long periods, bending and stooping.

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for a travel job in Escanaba, Michigan.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) for an immediate travel opening in Escanaba, MI. OT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

Tasks

As an OT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Review patients' medical history, ask the patients questions, and observe them doing tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.
• Develop a treatment plan for patients, identifying specific goals and the types of activities that will be used to help the patient work toward those goals.
• Help people with various disabilities perform different tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and, on the basis of the patient's health needs, identify potential improvements.
• Educate a patient's family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient.
• Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on how to use that equipment.
• Assess and record patient's activities and progress for patient evaluations, for billing, and for reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing.

Occupational Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. OTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
