Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for a 13-week assignment in South Dennis, Massachusetts.

The OT will evaluate patients, develop and implement care plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in an acute care setting. Start date: 12/14/2026. 40 hours per week with 10-hour daytime shifts. 6 months of experience preferred; BLS and NBCOT-OTR licensure encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 6 months OT experience; new grads may apply.
• BLS certification required and NBCOT (OTR) certification with state licensure.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' medical history and observe tasks to assess needs.
• Develop and implement a treatment plan and goals for daily living activities.
• Educate patients and families on home and community adaptations.
• Evaluate patient home/workplace for safety and possible improvements.
• Document progress for patient evaluations, billing, and physician reporting.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) for an immediate travel opening in South Dennis, MA. OT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

As an OT, you will be responsible for the evaluation and development of a plan of care for a variety of patients needing to improve, regain and develop skills needed for daily life. You will work in disabled, ill or injured patient populations in the acute care setting.

Tasks

As an OT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Review patients' medical history, ask the patients questions, and observe them doing tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.
• Develop a treatment plan for patients, identifying specific goals and the types of activities that will be used to help the patient work toward those goals.
• Help people with various disabilities perform different tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and, on the basis of the patient's health needs, identify potential improvements.
• Educate a patient's family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient.
• Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on how to use that equipment.
• Assess and record patient's activities and progress for patient evaluations, for billing, and for reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing.

Occupational Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. OTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
