Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for an assignment in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The position runs for 13 weeks, with 36 hours per week and 12-hour day shifts.

Travel status requires licensure and NBCOT-OTR certification; 1 year of experience preferred, with possible exception for strong backgrounds. Responsibilities include patient evaluation, treatment planning, home/workplace assessments, and education for families.

Qualifications

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for a travel job in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) for an immediate travel opening in Albuquerque, NM. OT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

Tasks

• Review patients' medical history, ask the patients questions, and observe them doing tasks.


• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.


• Develop a treatment plan for patients, identifying specific goals and the types of activities that will be used to help the patient work toward those goals.


• Help people with various disabilities perform different tasks.


• Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and, on the basis of the patient's health needs, identify potential improvements.


• Educate a patient's family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient.


• Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on how to use that equipment.


• Assess and record patient's activities and progress for patient evaluations, for billing, and for reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers.


• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing.

Occupational Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. OTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
