TotalMed Allied is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) for a travel assignment in Passaic, New Jersey. The role requires evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with families and care teams to meet rehabilitation goals.

Responsibilities include reviewing medical histories, designing goals, educating patients and employers on care needs, and documenting progress in accordance with state and payer guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' medical history, ask the patients questions, and observe them doing tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.
• Develop a treatment plan for patients, identifying specific goals and the types of activities that will be used to help the patient work toward those goals.
• Help people with various disabilities perform different tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and, on the basis of the patient's health needs, identify potential improvements.
• Educate a patient's family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient.
• Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on how to use that equipment.
• Assess and record patient's activities and progress for patient evaluations, for billing, and for reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.

Requirements

• BLS, NBCOT (OTR), 2 Years* Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
• Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply.
• Must have BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing.
• Occupational Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty.
• OTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Pay

Pay package is based on 10 hour shifts and 30.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
