Job summary

TotalMed is seeking a Telemetry RN for a travel assignment in Shelby, North Carolina. The nurse will cover 12-hour nights, 36 hours per week, and function in a high-acuity Telemetry unit with 24 beds. Experience with EPIC EMR is preferred and certification in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS is required.

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

Various diagnoses – Cardiac, Respiratory, Neuro, etc. Fast-paced, Observation

Patient Ratios:

RN: 1:5-6 (Day and Night) - in surge staffing could see ratios of up to 1:7-8

Technology/Equipment:

EMR: EPIC-at least 6 months experience required (please include how much experience in offer)
IV Pump: Alaris
Med dispensing: Omnicell
Monitors: Massimo in all rooms
Floating: Region 3 - Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH)
If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)

Scheduling:

Weekend rotation: every other
Call: Possibility of low census call. Can be called back up to 3a for Nights and up to 3p for Days
Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays - must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
Shift times: 0645-1915; 1845-0715
Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
