Job summary

Prodware Solutions LLC seeks an experienced travel RN to work Step Down/Telemetry in Los Angeles, CA. The nurse will provide comprehensive care for adults with cardiac monitoring needs, coordinating assessments and discharge planning with the health-care team.

Requirements include an active CA RN license, 3+ years in acute care (SDU/Telemetry/PCU/CCU), BLS/ACLS, and Epic EMR experience preferred. This is a travel assignment with 8+ weeks duration and possible extension.

Qualifications

• Active California RN License.
• Minimum 3 years of recent acute care experience in SDU, Telemetry, PCU, or Critical Care.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience with cardiac drips, post-cardiac procedures, and continuous telemetry monitoring preferred.
• Epic EMR experience preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and patient assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to Step Down/Telemetry patients with cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and post-operative conditions.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize/respond to arrhythmias and changes in patient condition.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and cardiac medications as ordered.
• Care for patients requiring cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive ventilation; ventilator competency may be required depending on the unit.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families on disease management, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (Epic preferred).
• Adhere to Kaiser Permanente policies, patient safety standards, and evidence-based nursing practices.
