Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel assignment in Show Low, Arizona. The position is a 13-week contract with a 36-hour weekly guarantee and 12-hour night shifts in a Stepdown/Med Tele unit.

Requirements include 2 years of RN experience with telemetry, active AZ or compact license, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. The role may involve floating to Med/Surg units and providing care to patients with diagnoses such as AMI, stroke, pneumonia, and renal issues.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years RN experience in acute care Telemetry/Stepdown.
• Active Arizona or Compact license to submit, BSN not required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide stepdown/telemetry care for adult patients.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage drips per protocol.
• Collaborate with charge nurses, techs, and hospital staff.
• Follow Allscripts EMR and infection-control policies.

Hospital & Unit Information

- Position is Stepdown/Med Tele

• Shift & Guarantee:
  • 3x12s (Nights)
  • 36-hour guarantee (up to 3 cancellations allowed per 13 weeks)
• Beds & Unit Setup:
  • 18 beds (all private rooms)
  • Telemetry unit with 6 PCU-capable beds
  • Mixed unit with temporary walls and air handling system (houses COVID patients as needed)
• Patient Ratios & Staffing:
  • RN Ratios: Med/Surg/Tele 1:4 | PCU/Stepdown 1:3
  • CNAs: Split the floor, taking up to 9 patients each
  • Charge Nurse: 24/7 (takes 0-2 patients when needed)
  • Support Staff: Tele techs, charge nurse, HUCs, PCTs, RT 24/7, Pharmacy 24/7, In-house Hospitalist 24/7 (No IV team)
• Patient Types & Common Diagnoses:
  • AMI, Stroke/TIA, Pneumonia, Renal/Dialysis, AFib with RVR, SIRS, DM
• EMR, Equipment & Meds:
  • Charting System: Allscripts
  • Monitors: Phillips (monitor tech room available; nurses validate interpretation & document every 4 hours or more frequently)
  • Common Drips: Cardizem, Amiodarone, Bumex, Lasix, Integrilin, Octreotide, Protonix
  • Vents: None (High-flow O2 on COVID stepdown patients; home CPAP for others)
• Schedule & Floating:
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Fri & Sat for nights)
  • Floating: May float to all Med/Surg units
  • Orientation: 2-3 days with preceptor

Job Requirements

• Experience Required:
  • 2 years required
  • 1-2 years of Telemetry experience required (including Med/Surg acute care setting)
• Licensing & Education:
  • Arizona or Compact License required to submit
  • BSN not required
• Certifications Required:
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • NIHSS
