MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Post Partum for a travel nursing job in Midlothian, Virginia. The assignment runs 16 weeks, with 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts, starting 09/28/2026.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license with a degree from an accredited nursing program, and current BLS, ACLS & NRP certifications, plus 18 months of recent acute care Mother/Baby experience.

• Teach new parents how to care for, bathe, breastfeed and/or bottle-feed the newborn and monitor health.

Duties Responsibilities

The Postpartum / Mother-baby nurse (RN) educates, and assists new mothers with physical and emotional needs during the post partum period. They perform the dual role of caring for the infants, and educating mothers about care.

• Responsible for caring for both moms and their newborns after delivery.
• RN plays a crucial role in the hours following delivery, monitoring mothers and helping to ensure proper recovery. Must recognize postpartum depression and teach new moms how to address emotions.
• Teach the new parents on how to care, bathe breastfeed and/or bottle-feed the newborn and monitor his or her health.
