Responsibilities

• Circulate surgical procedures and provide PACU care.
• Complete patient assessments and individualized care plans.
• Assist physicians during procedures and document care.
• Administer medications using barcode scanning and eMAR.
• Monitor patients during procedural sedation and respond to complications.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection-control standards.
• Provide advanced cardiac and respiratory monitoring as needed.
• Supervise and delegate to support staff.

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced RN who can independently perform both Operating Room circulator and PACU responsibilities . The nurse will provide safe perioperative and post-anesthesia care across diverse age groups while working closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers and the multidisciplinary team.

Required Experience

• Operating Room circulating experience
• PACU experience
• Trauma experience
• Colonoscopy and EGD procedure experience
• Procedural sedation competency
• Telemetry monitoring and basic arrhythmia interpretation
• Ability to respond to rapid changes in patient condition
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred

License and Certifications

• Active Colorado RN license or compact RN license
• Travelers using a compact license must obtain a Colorado license within 90 days
• Current BLS
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire
• PALS required within 6 months of hire
  • PALS may be completed at the facility
• EKG course required within 4 months of hire

Clinical Responsibilities

• Circulate surgical procedures and provide PACU care
• Complete patient assessments and individualized plans of care
• Assist physicians during procedures
• Administer medications using barcode scanning and eMAR
• Monitor patients receiving procedural sedation
• Recognize complications and initiate appropriate interventions
• Maintain sterile technique, infection-control standards and patient safety
• Provide advanced cardiac and respiratory monitoring as appropriate
• Supervise and delegate care to support staff
• Assist other hospital departments when requested
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation

Additional Details

The RN must have strong critical-thinking, communication and organizational skills. Flexibility is required to accommodate departmental staffing needs, call responsibilities and changing workloads.
