Job Summary

Medical Surgical Oncology Floor RN Days, various locations. This position involves providing specialized inpatient nursing care for oncology patients, including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and patient education. The role requires a compassionate approach to support patients through their treatment journey within a busy oncology unit.

Job Details

Certifications, Education, and Experience: Active MD or Compact RN License, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), Chemo (Oncology Nursing Society/ONCC), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical surgical oncology setting.
Schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts, Days (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM), minimum of 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities: Administration of chemotherapy, electrolytes, blood products, and supportive care treatments; managing ports and central lines; patient/family education; monitoring for complications such as infections, side effects, or adverse reactions; collaborating with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
Additional Information: Candidates must be comfortable floating within their scope and handling complex oncology-specific procedures. Onboarding involves labs within 72 hours of signing, with a deadline for compliance documentation five days prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic charting system, charge nurse experience, previous community hospital or in-patient oncology experience.
Required Qualifications: Active MD or Compact RN license, BLS, ACLS, Chemo certification, NIHSS certification, minimum 2 years oncology/infusion experience, proficiency with Epic charting system, and experience with complex infusion procedures.
