• Number of Beds - 42
• Number of Staff – 103
• Type of staff:
• Day Shift – 1 CNC, 1 Transport RN, RN’s dependent on census and acuity, 1 unit secretary, 1-2 unit techs dependent on census
• Night Shift – 1 CNC, 1 Transport RN, RN’s dependent on census and acuity, 1 unit secretary, 1-2 unit techs dependent on census
• Patient Ratios – L3 2:1 and 1:1 dependent on acuity L2: 3:1
• Type of equipment – Radiant warmers, isolettes, syringe pumps, feeding pumps, vents, oscillators, JETs, CPAP, NIPPV, High Flow nasal cannula, nasal cannulas, EKG monitors, breast milk warmer
• EMR – CPN and Meditech

Skill Set Most recruited for:

Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

• Safe medication administration including calculation of medications
• Administer medications and EMB using the 5 patient rights
• Appropriate handling of EMB
• Care of patients with NG/OG tubes
• Follow feeding orders and recommendations from OT/ST
• Care of patients of CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Nasal Cannula
• Care for patients with PIV’s, PICC’s, UAC/UVC
• Safely care for patients 22 weeks and above
• Understands use of all equipment in the NICU
• Promotes safe sleeping at 32-34 gestation
• Can demonstrate developmentally appropriate care when handling preterm infant
• Proficient in lab draws
• Knowledgeable in escalating patient concerns
• NAS scoring

Preferred or nice to have

• Experience with ETT, Vent’s Jet’s, Cooling, Surgical patients
