Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in a hospital float pool, requiring an active NH or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital float pool providing care on Med/Surg and Telemetry units
• 12-hour night shifts with three shifts per week
• No on-call required
• Float may be required to additional hospital campuses within the network
• Cerner EMR experience is preferred but not required
• Weekly orientation provided
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are eligible but will receive a local rate
• Perm staff may return as travelers after a 12-month break in service
• Three references, including two from leadership, required once committed to the contract

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required at the time of consideration (no temp licenses accepted)
• Minimum 1-2 years of Med/Surg experience required; Critical Care RNs welcome if experienced with med-surg patient ratios and acuity
• Current BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) needed prior to start
• ACLS certification is preferred
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam during onboarding with a preferred score of 80%
• 2 recent charge or manager RN references from current or previous employment required
• Skills checklist matching the Med/Surg Telemetry specialty required at the time of application
