Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Saint Louis, Missouri. You will work on a Medical Surgical floor providing comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients within an interdisciplinary team.

The role requires a BSN, 5 years of RN experience, and current BCLS/ACLS/CPI/NIHSS certifications; travel experience preferred and trauma experience welcomed. Schedule includes 12-hour days, 36 hours per week, for a 13-week contract.

Qualifications

• Valid state RN license is required.
• BSN degree is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of related nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage acute and trauma-related conditions including trauma from abuse, MVA and falls.
• Provide postoperative care for procedures such as joint replacements and wound management.
• Support an interdisciplinary team in a Magnet and Teaching Hospital setting.
• Operate lifts, restraints, wound vacs, external fixators and oxygen therapy devices.

Job Summary

Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in a short-term acute care facility, located in a healthcare provider setting. The position involves providing comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients, managing trauma cases, surgical post-op care, and supporting various complex medical conditions. The role offers an opportunity to work within an interdisciplinary team in a Magnet and Teaching Hospital setting.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 10/12/2026 and ending on 01/11/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Valid state license, BSN degree, 5 years of related experience, BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification, NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level I and II experience, previous experience in community hospital settings, and travel experience.
• Patient Ratios: 1:4-6, with a patient census of approximately 50-55 patients daily.
• Responsibilities: Managing acute and trauma-related conditions including trauma from abuse, MVA, and falls; postoperative surgical care for procedures such as joint replacements and wound management; utilizing special equipment including lifts, restraints, wound vacs, external fixators, and oxygen therapy devices.
• Additional Information: Will need to pass the Relias EKG exam with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required. Floating within scope to meet facility needs is permitted. No RTO restrictions beyond 7 days per 13-week contract. Must comply with facility policies regarding licensure and certifications.
