Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Cath Lab seeks a skilled travel nurse RN Interventional Radiology for a 13-week assignment in Duluth, GA. The IR RN will handle pre, intra, and post-procedure care, collaborate with radiologists and technologists, and ensure patient safety.

Requirements include one year IR RN experience, active RN license, and current BLS, with optional PALS/ENPC, ACLS, RCIS/RCES certifications. Travel benefits and weekly pay are provided.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive pre-procedure assessments, including reviewing medical history and lab results
Educate patients and families about IR procedures, sedation, and post-procedure care
Administer and monitor moderate sedation, ensuring patient comfort and safety
Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and oxygenation levels during procedures
Assist physicians during procedures, ensuring proper positioning, sterile technique, and instrument handling
Recognize and respond to complications, escalating care when necessary
Provide post-procedure monitoring and recovery care, including pain management and patient discharge education
Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, medications, and procedural details
Collaborate with IR technologists, radiologists, and other healthcare team members to deliver coordinated care
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Required Qualifications:

One year’s recent experience as an Interventional Radiology RN
Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) certification

Preferred Qualifications:

Summary:

The Interventional Radiology (IR) Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing minimally invasive procedures in the IR lab. This role involves pre-procedure assessment, intra-procedure monitoring, sedation administration, and post-procedure recovery management. Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
Sensory - Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
