Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg within a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital.

• Ensure patient safety; use restraints and equipment per policy and document accordingly.
• Maintain complete, accurate nursing documentation of status and interventions.
• Process physician orders promptly and perform daily order checks as needed.
• Report critical labs and assist with infection control and restock supplies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg setting within a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, with willingness to flex into other departments as needed
• Identify patient and family education needs and deliver education using appropriate modalities
• Ensure patient safety through proper use of side rails, restraints, and equipment; follow and document restraint policy in accordance with facility standards
• Maintain complete, accurate, and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, patient responses, and charge documentation throughout assigned shift
• Process and verify physician orders in a timely manner, including 24-hour order checks when applicable to assigned shift
• Report critical lab values to the physician per policy, implement infection control and isolation procedures, and maintain and restock emergency carts and general supplies

Required Qualifications

• Active Washington State RN License required
• Experience in PCU, Telemetry, and/or MedSurg nursing required
• Demonstrated knowledge of safe operation of equipment used in PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg areas
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and follow procedures for repair or escalation
• Proficiency in standard precautions and infection control procedures

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Critical Access Hospital environment
• Comfort working in a flexible, multi-department capacity
• Strong communication skills for accurate shift-to-shift handoff reporting and interdepartmental coordination
