Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Marion, Illinois. The assignment is 13 weeks, 48 hours per week, nights, with a 12-hour shift. The unit is an 18-bed mixed ICU/step-down, requiring ICU RN credentials and travel experience.

Candidates should hold an Illinois RN license (active or temporary), BLS, ACLS and NIHSS, with 2+ years ICU experience preferred. Travel experience is required; first-time travelers should not apply.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license; temporary license accepted.
• 2+ years ICU experience; 3 preferred.
• At least 1 completed travel assignment; no first-time travelers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ICU patient ratios of 2 ICU patients or 3 step-down patients per RN.
• Float to step-down care as needed to cover staffing.
• Work weekends/holidays every other weekend and holiday.
• No on-call; RT available; charge nurse takes patients.

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license; active temporary license accepted
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• At least 2 years of ICU experience; 3 preferred
• At least 1 completed travel assignment; no first-time travelers
• Strong neuro assessments, dysphagia screening, and telemetry/EKG interpretation; EKG exam on day one
• Experience with ventilators, titratable drips, sepsis care, and post-ROSC therapeutic hypothermia

Schedule and patient care

• Ratios: 2 ICU patients or 3 step-down patients per RN
• Floating: Step-down care as needed
• Weekends/holidays: Every other weekend and holiday
• On-call: None
• Support: RT available; charge nurse takes patients
• Scrubs: Navy blue
