Job Description & Requirements

• Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit
• Duration: 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12 hours
• Employment Type: Travel

Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in coordination with other health team members. Effectively interacts with the patient, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining high standards of professional nursing. Provides high quality care to the following patient populations: Adult cardiac/ telemetry, Stroke, Vascular intervention, Hemodynamic monitoring. BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Required. Estimated work week 36-hours with the possibility of overtime. Traveler will be responsible for self-studying Telemetry strips upon acceptance, and a Basic Dysrhythmia test out will be given first week of assignment. This must be passed in order to work on our ICU-CCU units.

Cerner EMR. Float expectation to other units. Ratios are 1:3-4. BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Required.

The Critical Care Registered Nurse assumes responsibilityand accountability for the application of the nursing process and the deliveryof patient care in a variety of critical care settings. Consistently performsaccording to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient care andassisting others in the management of patient care. Responsibilities includemonitoring, assessment, vital sign monitoring, ventilator management,medication administration, intravenous insertion and infusion, central linecare, catheters, and maintenance of a running record of the patient’s status.The Critical Care RN must be prepared at all times to perform cardiopulmonaryresuscitation and other lifesaving measures for the patients in their care.
