Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license at time of consideration.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Minimum of 1 year ICU experience not including floating.
• Comfort with EKG required.
• Experience with vents, CRRT, and balloon pumps preferred.
• Experience in neuro, CVICU, or trauma ICU preferred.
• Skills checklist for RN specialty completed within one year.
• Former full-time McLaren employees must wait six months after employment to be eligible.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVU) of a hospital.
• Care for cardiology patients including post-PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, bi-ventricular pacemakers, open heart surgery, congestive heart failure, and electrophysiology cases.
• Unit cares for over 4000 cardiology patients annually and approximately 300 open heart surgery patients.
• Research studies occur in collaboration with the NISUS research department.
• 12-hour night shifts.
• Required to work every other weekend.
• Possible on-call requirement.
• Floating to similar units is required.
• Provide high-acuity care to a diverse cardiac and post-surgical patient population.
• Strict attendance policy: more than three late arrivals or absences leads to immediate termination, with exceptions for certain medical circumstances.
• Team collaborates closely with leadership, medical staff, and research teams.
• Unit has been recognized with national awards for clinical excellence.
• No more than five days of requested time off allowed during contract.
