Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment and interpret telemetry strips; respond to emergencies.
• Float to all inpatient units with ICU coverage, excluding Maternity/NICU as stated.

Job Summary:
ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Nurse position in a medical-surgical ICU setting located within a tertiary hospital system. The role involves providing specialized care for adult and pediatric patients with critical illnesses, including neuro, respiratory, sepsis, and cardiogenic shock cases. This fast-paced environment requires critical thinking, teamwork, and strong communication skills to deliver high-quality care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The assignment begins on 10/26/2026 and ends on 01/25/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), and a minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ventilators (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow), telemetry interpretation, and titrating drips such as vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics.
• Additional Information: Candidates must have a drivers license, adhere to the Fingernail policy (artificial nails prohibited), and pass an open-book skills exam with a 90% score during orientation. The unit covers adult and pediatric patients over 15 years old, with a multidisciplinary team including attending providers and resident/fellow trainees. The unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2 in ICU, and 1:4-6 in medical-surgical units. RNs are expected to trouble-shoot equipment, interpret telemetry strips, and participate in emergency responses. The unit allows float to all inpatient units except Maternity/NICU, with a dress code of navy blue scrubs. RTO (Return to Office) time off requests must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved.
