Qualifications

• ASN or Nursing Diploma required.
• Current RN license in state of practice.
• BLS certification (AHA) required.
• ACLS certification (AHA) required.
• Valid compact license must be transferred within 60 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with pre-operative care RNs to assess patient needs and procedure requirements.
• Performs ongoing assessments and documents changes from baseline status.
• Develops and implements care plans and communicates updates to the healthcare team and patient/family.
• Uses aseptic principles during procedures and monitors compliance.
• Participates in quality evaluations and patient care improvements.
• Assists with inventory management and documents equipment usage for billing and control.
• May float to other departments within scope of competency and be on-call during shifts.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days shift, 9 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) or Nursing Diploma; Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice; BLS (AHA); ACLS (AHA); Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of employment start date
• Preferred Qualifications: N/A
• Supports, educates, and reassures patients and their families throughout procedures
• Collaborates with pre-operative care registered nurses to assess patient needs and procedure requirements, performing ongoing assessments and documenting changes from baseline status
• Develops and implements plans of care, communicating updates to the healthcare team and patient/family members as appropriate
• Uses aseptic principles during procedures, monitoring compliance and initiating corrective actions when necessary
• Integrates theoretical knowledge into clinical practice, focusing on evidence-based research to improve patient outcomes
• Participates in quality evaluations and contributes to activities aimed at enhancing patient care and the healthcare environment
• Assists with inventory management and documents equipment and supply usage for accurate billing and control
• Performs other clinical duties as assigned and may float to other departments or nursing units within scope of competency based on operational needs
