Cross Country Nurses is seeking an ICU CVICU travel nurse for a 13-week assignment in Austin, TX. The RN will perform direct patient care in a high-risk cardiac ICU, focusing on advanced cardiac support patients such as heart transplants and LVAD implants.

The position requires 2+ years ICU or Cardiology experience, RN license, and CPR. Role includes float coverage across MICU, SICU, and Cardiac Stepdown units, with night shifts and 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Valid nursing license and CPR (AHA).
• 2 years ICU or Cardiology experience.
• Experience with cardiac devices: IABP, Impella, Swan-Ganz.
• Proficiency with Cerner or COMPASS EMR.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) Nurse in Austin, TX. This role involves delivering high-quality direct patient care within a specialized cardiac Intensive Care Unit, focusing on high-risk cardiac surgery patients such as heart transplants, LVAD implants, ECMO, Impella, IABP, and CRRT. The position requires clinical expertise in advanced cardiac support devices and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and optimal recovery outcomes.

Job Details

Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid nursing license, CPR certification (AHA)
• 2 years of clinical experience in ICU or Cardiology unit
• experience managing cardiac advanced device therapy including IABP, Impella, or Swan-Ganz monitoring
• proficiency with Cerner or COMPASS electronic medical records
• minimum of 0 years experience including educational requirements and location requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing high-risk cardiac surgery patients
• familiarity with ECMO, LVAD, Heart Transplants, and other advanced cardiac support systems

Additional Information

Role includes float coverage to MICU, SICU, and Medical or Cardiac Stepdown Units as needed. The unit uses navy scrub color. Candidates must verify Certifications and licenses prior to placement.
