Job Details

• Required Qualifications:
  • Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) and Oncology Nursing Society/Oncology Certified Nurse (ONS/ONCC) (as listed)

• Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trauma Level I experience
  • Trauma Level II experience
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) experience (listed as required) and additional oncology certifications/experience relevant to head & neck medical/surgical oncology
  • Oncology-related outpatient and inpatient experience relevant to head & neck medical oncology and head & neck surgical oncology
• Additional Information:
  • Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy (including oral administration of chemotherapy), supporting patient/family education and support, providing care coordination, assisting with symptom management (including nausea/vomiting, constipation/diarrhea, neuropathy, dysphagia), recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values, and performing wound care.
  • Responsibilities also include telephone triage and tracheostomy care/management as applicable to unit needs.
  • Patient care focus includes head & neck medical oncology and head & neck surgical oncology, including pre- and post-operative surgical oncology care and clinic-based procedures.
  • Special equipment needs may include flexible laryngoscopes, tracheostomy supplies, suction equipment, wound care supplies, and emergency airway equipment (as applicable to the units practice).
