Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Odessa, Texas. The role requires 1 year of Nuclear Medicine experience, BLS and ARRT (N) or NMTCB-CNMT certification, with state licensing where required.

The NMT will operate scanners, position patients, follow safety protocols, and maintain records, with a 40-hour work week, dayshift, on-site in Odessa, TX. This is a travel assignment with tax-free stipend details pending.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of Nuclear Medicine experience.
• BLS, ARRT (N) certification with Nuclear Medicine registration or NMTCB-CNMT.
• State-specific licensing as required.
• Must be able to stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Obtain required approval and signatures by nuclear medicine physicians.
• Position patients and prepare them for procedures.
• Operate the scanner or gamma scintillation camera.
• Perform procedures including injecting radiopharmaceuticals under radiologist supervision.
• Assist patients during procedures.
• Maintain a safe environment following radiation safety and disposal procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Understand and use McKesson PACS system.

We are looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) for an immediate travel opening in Odessa, TX. The right NMT must have 1 year of experience. Read below for additional requirements.

Tasks

• Attain required approval and signature by nuclear medicine physicians
• Transfer, position, and instruct patients in preparation for procedures
• Operate the scanner or gamma scintillation camera.
• Perform procedures including injecting radiopharmaceuticals under the direct supervision of a radiologist
• Provide assistance to patients during procedures
• Ensure the environment is safe at all times for patients and staff by following safety and radiation disposal procedures
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, ARRT (N) National Certification with registration in Nuclear Medicine or NMTCB-CNMT, and state-specific licensing when required.

NMTs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. NMTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
