Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a NICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Lafayette, IN. This role offers 36 hours per week with night shifts and a chance to care for critically ill newborns in a neonate intensive care unit.

Required qualifications include 1 year NICU experience, active RN license, BLS, and NRP certification. Preferred certifications include RNC-NIC and PALS/ENPC. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and provide family-centered care.

Qualifications

One year of recent experience as a neonatal intensive care RN
Current RN license
BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification

Responsibilities

Assess and monitor critically ill and premature newborns; document conditions and responses
Administer medications and treatments per neonatal nursing protocols
Perform neonatal assessments including vitals, weight, and screenings
Operate NICU equipment such as ventilators and CPAP; ensure functionality
Educate and support parents on neonatal care and feeding techniques
Prepare equipment and assist physicians during exams and procedures
Develop individualized care plans with the multidisciplinary team
Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
