Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing seeks a Travel NICU RN for a 13-week assignment in Vallejo, California. Start date 10/04/2026; 36 hours per week, 12-hour night shifts. Requires 1 year NICU RN experience, active RN license, and BLS/NRP certifications.

Preferred credentials include RNC-NIC and PALS or ENPC. You will provide specialized care to critically ill newborns, operate NICU equipment, and educate families while collaborating with the care team.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a neonatal intensive care RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification.
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill and premature newborns, document changes and responses.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per neonatal nursing techniques.
• Perform neonatal assessments, including vitals, weights, and screenings.
• Operate NICU equipment such as ventilators and infusion pumps with safety.
• Assist with life-saving procedures including intubation and line placement.
• Educate and support parents on neonatal care and feeding techniques.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during exams and procedures.
• Develop care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Adhere to infection control and regulatory standards to protect neonates.
• Collaborate with neonatologists and therapists to optimize outcomes.
• Perform other duties within scope of practice and safety protocols.
