Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (Peds-RRT) for a 13-week travel assignment in Austin, TX. The position requires 36 hours per week on a 12-hour night shift, with travel-friendly conditions and a focus on pediatric acute care.

The Peds-RRT will provide direct patient care across clinical areas, perform respiratory and cardiology procedures, maintain records, and ensure equipment readiness. NBRC-RRT, BLS, ACLS are required; PALS/NRP may be required at some sites.

Qualifications

• One year of recent acute care experience required.
• NBRC-RRT certification plus BLS/ACLS; PALS/NRP may be required in some sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients per procedural guidelines.
• Administer respiratory and cardiology modalities as prescribed.
• Maintain and document patient records; ensure equipment is clean, calibrated and safe.
• Perform arterial puncture and sample analysis per guidelines.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and staff to optimize care.
• Respond to emergent situations requiring respiratory support.

We're looking for a Pediatric Registered Respiratory Therapist (Peds-RRT) for an immediate travel position opening in Austin, TX. The right Peds-RRT must have 1 year of recent acute care experience. Read below for additional requirements.

As a Peds-RRT, you will provide direct patient care to patients in a variety of clinical areas, including evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines.

As a Peds-RRT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Administer to patients a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities.
• Maintains appropriate patient records/documentation.
• Cleans, disinfects, assembles, calibrates, maintains respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories. Evaluates equipment for proper and safe function. Reports malfunctions to director.
• Performs arterial puncture and analyzes sample according to procedure guidelines.
• Interacts with co-workers, nurses, physicians, other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care for patient being treated.
• Responds to emergent situations that could require Respiratory support.

Peds-RRTs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. Peds-RRTs should be able to easily lift 20 pounds. Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times. Peds-RRTs must have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Must have 1 year of experience. Must have NBRC-RRT, BLS, and ACLS. PALS and NRP may be required in some areas.
