Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Riverhead, New York. The role requires 1 year of MRI experience, BLS, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT with MRI registration, and state licensing where required.

You will operate MRI equipment, ensure image quality, and support physicians with interpretation. Responsibilities include patient prep and safety, procedure assistance, contrast administration, and PACS usage.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as MRI Technologist required.
• BLS, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification with registration in MRI; state licensing if required.
• Ability to stand/walk long periods and knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identification and review imaging requests.
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedures.
• Interpret doctors' instructions accurately.
• Position patients for MRI scans and ensure safety.
• Assist radiologist during procedures.
• Start IVs and administer contrast as directed.
• Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality and label appropriately.
• Load and operate power injectors for contrast.
• Follow safety procedures when working with radiation.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Understand and use McKesson PACS system.
