Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a travel assignment in Tuba City, AZ. The MRI Tech will perform MRI scans, prepare patients, and ensure image quality for physicians, with 1 year of experience and required ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification, plus BLS.

Shifts are 12 hours, days, 39 hours per week. This 13-week travel position begins ASAP and offers travel benefits through TotalMed Allied.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of MRI experience.
• ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification with registration in MRI.
• State licensing as required.

Responsibilities

• Match imaging requests with procedures and explain imaging steps to patients.
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedures.
• Interpret doctors' orders and position patients for scans.
• Load and operate contrast media administration per protocol.
• Assess MRI images for technical quality and proper labeling.
• Maintain accurate patient records and use McKesson PACS.

We are looking for a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Tuba City, AZ. The right MRI Tech must have 1 year of experience. Read below for additional requirements.

As an MRI Tech, you will be responsible for the use of magnetic resonance imaging equipment and ensuring that images are accurate and passed on to physicians for medical interpretation. MRI Techs are also responsible for the preparation of and caring for patients undergoing MRI imaging.

Tasks

As an MRI Tech, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients providing reassurance and support as required
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedure performance
• Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions
• Position patients for MRI scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff
• Assist radiologist with procedure performance
• Start I.V.s, administer contrast media as directed and per protocol
• Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately
• Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration
• Follow safety procedures when working with radiationMaintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT National Certification with registration in magnetic resonance imaging, and state-specific licensing when required.

MRI Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Requirements*: ARRT (MR), BLS, ARRT (R), 3 Years * Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
