Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a travel assignment in Charlotte, North Carolina. The role requires ARRT or NMTCB certification, ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT, BLS, and at least 1 year of MRI experience. Shift is 12 hours at night, 36 hours per week, for 13 weeks at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital.

Experience with Siemens 1.5T MRI and EPIC EMR is preferred; open to first-time travelers. Local candidates are not accepted; travel accommodations and a tax-free stipend are part of

• Collaborate with the lead tech, modality supervisor, and Imaging Manager.
• Participate in orientation and onboarding processes; support traveler staff.
• Support holiday coverage and follow contract schedule without rotation.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring ARRT(R) or NMTCB and ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification along with at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center facility
• Teaching hospital averaging 40-45 patients per day
• Adult and pediatric patients from ED, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatient settings across the full spectrum of radiology exams
• Siemens 1.5T magnets used for MRI procedures
• EPIC EMR system in use
• 12-hour night shifts, Friday-Sunday 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• No rotation between weekday and weekend shifts; schedule remains consistent per contract
• No floating required
• Call requirements shared in a fair rotation among full-time, part-time, PRN, and traveler staff

• Facility and departmental orientation includes a tour and introductions, typically 5 days but flexible based on traveler needs
• Holiday coverage expected unless time off is approved in advance
• RTO requires manager approval
• Black scrubs required for technologists
