Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist for a travel assignment in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. The role requires 1 year of experience, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification with registration, and BLS; state licensing may be required.

The MRI Tech will prepare patients, operate MRI equipment, assist radiologists, and ensure image quality while adhering to safety standards and HIPAA. This 13‑week travel assignment runs at 36 hours per week with 9‑hour days.

Qualifications

• 1 year of MRI experience required.
• ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification with registration.
• BLS required and state licensing if needed.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods; strong anatomy knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and review imaging requests; explain procedures.
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedures.
• Position patients and ensure safety with immobilization equipment.
• Assist radiologist during MRI procedures.
• Start IVs and administer contrast per protocol.
• Evaluate MRI images for quality and organize outputs.
• Operate contrast injectors and follow safety procedures.

We are looking for a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Saint Cloud, MN. The right MRI Tech must have 1 year of experience. Read below for additional requirements.

As an MRI Tech, you will be responsible for the use of magnetic resonance imaging equipment and ensuring that images are accurate and passed on to physicians for medical interpretation. MRI Techs are also responsible for the preparation of and caring for patients undergoing MRI imaging.

Tasks

As an MRI Tech, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients providing reassurance and support as required
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedure performance
• Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions
• Position patients for MRI scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff
• Assist radiologist with procedure performance
• Start I.V.s, administer contrast media as directed and per protocol
• Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately
• Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration
• Follow safety procedures when working with radiation
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT National Certification with registration in magnetic resonance imaging, and state-specific licensing when required.

MRI Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
