American Traveler is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Charleston, SC. The role requires ARRT registration and BLS certification to perform diagnostic imaging in a hospital radiology department.

The assignment features 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts (7:30 AM–8:00 PM), with one weekend call per month. Responsibilities include supervising students, charting in Cerner, and potential to float to a sister hospital.

Qualifications

• ARRT registration is required.
• Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required.
• Active SC or compact license, if applicable.
• Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Professionals program.
• Cross-sectional anatomy or MRI experience is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to perform and teach MRI exams producing diagnostic quality images.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations.
• Frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs intermittently.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI procedures under the supervision of radiologists following established protocols.
• Supervise student MRI technologists assigned to the unit.
• Instruct and prepare patients for imaging procedures and assist in obtaining informed consent.
• Communicate with radiologists and family members regarding procedures and discharge instructions.
• Ensure correct orders, diagnosis, and clinical history are entered into the computer system.
• Practice radiation safety in accordance with ALARA principles.
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and radiation risk is part of the work environment.
• Work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours as needed.
• May require working weekends and holidays based on department needs.
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible for this position.
• Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from initial start date before requiring a break prior to a new assignment.
