Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Omaha, Nebraska. The MRI Tech will operate MRI equipment, ensure image quality for physician interpretation, and care for patients undergoing imaging.

Requires 1 year of experience, BLS, and ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification with state licensing when required. Responsibilities include patient screening for MRI safety, assisting radiologists, IV placement, contrast administration, image labeling, and maintaining

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of experience.
• Must have BLS, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT National Certification with registration in magnetic resonance imaging, and state-specific licensing when required.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients providing reassurance and support as required.
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedure performance.
• Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions.
• Position patients for MRI scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Assist radiologist with procedure performance.
• Start I.V.s, administer contrast media as directed and per protocol.
• Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately.
• Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration.
• Follow safety procedures when working with radiation.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system.
