Job summary

TotalMed Allied seeks a travel MRI Technologist for an immediate assignment in Atlanta, GA. This 13-week travel role requires 36 hours per week with 12-hour day shifts.

The MRI Tech will operate in a fast-paced imaging department, ensuring accurate imaging and patient safety while supporting radiology staff. Qualifications include 1 year of MRI experience, BLS, and ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification with state licensing where required.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of experience.
• Must have BLS, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification with registration, and state licensing when required.
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients providing reassurance and support as required.
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedure performance.
• Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions.
• Position patients for MRI scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Assist radiologist with procedure performance.
• Start I.V.s, administer contrast media as directed and per protocol.
• Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately.
• Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration.
• Follow safety procedures when working with radiation.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system.
