Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Wilmington, North Carolina.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of MRI experience, ARRT MR and BLS certifications, and is able to work 12-hour night shifts. Travel experience and NC or Compact license (or pending) are required.

The role uses GE and Siemens MRI systems, Epic for documentation, and may rotate across units with no on-call requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI imaging across adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Operate GE and Siemens MRI equipment and document in Epic.
• Rotate across units including NHRMC Ortho and main hospital as needed.
• No on-call requirements during assignment.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a night shift assignment requiring prior travel experience.

Details

• Hospital-based MRI department
• 3x12 hour night shifts, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, on Wednesday/Thursday/Saturday
• Floating required to NHRMC Ortho on Thursday and Friday, and to the main hospital on Saturday
• No call requirements
• Uses GE and Siemens MRI equipment
• Uses Epic for documentation and communication
• Adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations; familiarity with neonates, infants, and pediatrics preferred

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of MRI Tech experience required
• Prior travel experience required (unit will not accept first-time travelers)
• ARRT MR and BLS certification required
• NC or Compact license required if applicable; pending license accepted at submission
• Recent hospital experience required
• Experience with abdomen, pelvis, head and neck, spine, and musculoskeletal imaging
• Proficiency in diffusion (non-brain), gradient echo imaging, MIP, MRP, peripheral MRA, spin echo images, surface coils, T1/T2 weighted imaging, and CINE required
• Chest imaging and image post-processing experience preferred

Additional Information

• Perform MRI imaging across multiple specialties including abdominal, pelvic, spine, and musculoskeletal studies
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Weekly hospital orientation, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with mandatory attendance for all classes during week one
• Pre-start modules (8-10 hours for acute care roles) must be completed prior to start and annually
• Staff may be assigned to Storm Team/Hurricane Team and required to report during catastrophic events or disasters
• Local candidates accepted within 50 miles at a reduced rate
• Former Novant/New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before reapplying, with facility approval required
• Up to 7 days of RTO auto-approved excluding holidays; no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Travel pairs allowed if assigned to different units with separate transportation
