Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for an assignment in Omaha, Nebraska. The position is a 13-week travel opening with 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts.

The MRI Tech will perform imaging procedures, ensure safety, and deliver high-quality scans to physicians for interpretation. Requires ARRT MR or equivalent certification, BLS, and state licensing where required.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of experience.
• Must have BLS, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT National Certification with registration in magnetic resonance imaging, and state-specific licensing when required.
• MRI Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty.
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients providing reassurance and support as required
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedure performance
• Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions
• Position patients for MRI scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff
• Assist radiologist with procedure performance
• Start I.V.s, administer contrast media as directed and per protocol
• Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately
• Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration
• Follow safety procedures when working with radiation
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
