Layton Construction is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to oversee field coordination, supervise subcontracted labor, and drive on-site safety and quality on commercial projects.

The role emphasizes scheduling, progress reviews with project managers and clients, and ensuring adherence to safety standards across pharma and non-pharma sites. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of field experience in commercial projects.
• Commercial and Life Science construction experience is preferred.
• Experience should include supervisory responsibility as a General Foreman, Field Engineer or Assistant Superintendent.
• Well developed communication, interpersonal, organizational and teamwork skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the project schedule and maintains reports describing project status.
• Coordinate field operations and supervise subcontractors for construction projects.
• Reviews status and progress with the Project Manager and client representatives, especially on large projects with multiple Superintendents.
• Ensures safety standards and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craftsmen and others when operating tools and equipment.
• Directs subcontractor activities within pharma projects.
• Analyzes manpower, material, and equipment requirements and coordinates with supervising personnel.
• Implements and enforces policies, procedures, and work rules established by field construction management.
• Prepares reports and forecasts and keeps supervisors informed on progress of activities.
• Ensures safety standards are maintained in the operational area and equipment is in safe condition.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepares the project schedule, maintains reports accurately describing project status
• Responsible for the timely and cost effective field coordination, quality control and day-to-day supervision of subcontracted work forces for construction projects
• Reviews status and project progress with the Project Manager and client representatives on a regular basis. Large projects include multiple Superintendents.
• Ensures safety standards and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craftsmen and others when operating tools and equipment.
• Directs sub contractor activities within pharma projects
• Analyzes manpower, material, equipment requirements, and interfaces the requirements with others as designated by supervising superintendent.
• Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction Management
• Prepares reports and forecasts, as required, and keeps supervisors informed on progress of overall assigned activities
• Ensures safety standards and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craftsmen and others when in the operational area, tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
