Job summary

MedPro Healthcare Allied Staffing is seeking a travel Medical Technologist for a Weston, Florida assignment. This contract runs for 13 weeks with 40 hours per week, night shifts, and travel considered. The agency notes that this is a medical laboratory position, not a Medical Assistant role.

Qualifications

• Active certification through ASCP, AMT, HEW or AAB required.
• Eighteen months of Medical Laboratory Technologist / Technician experience required.
• A state license may be required.
• Need to have a basic grasp of scientific laboratory procedures, including using laboratory equipment and generating reports from laboratory tests.

Responsibilities

• Test blood and bodily fluids using complex equipment to gather data.
• Examine specimens for bacteria, viruses or parasites.
• Measure levels of drugs or chemicals in blood for therapeutic ranges.
• Assess chemical content to identify nutrient deficiencies or cholesterol/blood sugar excesses.
• Operate cell counters, cultures, microscopes and related equipment.
• Follow lab protocols for analyzing, interpreting and delivering test results.
