American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Iron Mountain, Michigan. Start date 12/29/2025, duration 13 weeks, 36 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts and Paragon EMR.

Candidates must hold a Michigan RN license, BLS, and have at least 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry experience in an acute care setting. ACLS is preferred. Travel reimbursements and per diem are provided.

• Active MI RN license required by the assignment start date.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience in an acute care setting required
• Must be skilled in IV starts due to the absence of an IV team
• Basic telemetry arrhythmia knowledge required

Responsabilidades

• Work in an acute care Med/Tele unit with 24 inpatient beds and up to 10 observation/day surgery cases
• Patient population includes medical-surgical, telemetry, post-orthopedic surgery, and other acute diagnoses
• Patient ratios are 5:1 on days and 6:1 at night, with team nursing that includes LPNs and nurse aides
• Night shift position with 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend, covering Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Holiday coverage required for 2 out of 3 holidays during the contract
• Floating to similar units and patient populations is mandatory
• Utilizes Paragon EMR
• Must be comfortable with basic arrhythmia recognition and physical monitors at the nurses' desk
• May be assigned relief charge nurse responsibilities
• On-call or standby possible as needed
• Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and are subject to a reduced rate

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care Med/Tele unit with 24 inpatient beds and up to 10 observation/day surgery cases
• Patient population includes medical-surgical, telemetry, post-orthopedic surgery, and other acute diagnoses
• Patient ratios are 5:1 on days and 6:1 at night, with team nursing that includes LPNs and nurse aides
• Night shift position with 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend, covering Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

• Small pediatric population is rarely assigned to travelers unless experienced or necessary
• Orientation includes 8 hours of computer training, 4 hours shadowing, and one 12-hour shift of orientation before independent assignment
• Dress code is professional attire with no specific scrub color required
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• Returning employees must have a minimum 6-month break since last employment and require approval
• Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and are subject to a reduced rate

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required by the assignment start date
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience in an acute care setting required
• Prefer experience with TURPs-CBI procedures and knowledge of critical access or trauma level 3 or 4 facilities
• Must be skilled in IV starts due to the absence of an IV team
• Basic telemetry arrhythmia knowledge required
• Two recent professional references are required: one from a supervisor and one from a peer or supervisor
