Qualifications
- Active certification through ASCP, AMT, HEW or AAB required.
- Eighteen months of Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician experience required.
- A state license may be required.
- Need to have a basic grasp of scientific laboratory procedures, including using lab equipment and generating reports.
Responsibilities
- Test blood and bodily fluids using laboratory equipment.
- Examine specimens for bacteria, viruses or parasites.
- Measure drug levels and other chemicals in blood.
- Assess chemical content to identify nutrient deficiencies or cholesterol/sugar excesses.
- Follow lab protocols for testing, interpreting, and delivering results.
