Job summary

Uniontown Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and nursing staff. You will greet patients, obtain vital signs, prepare exam rooms, and assist with exams and procedures in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to travel between WVU ambulatory clinic locations as needed. A Medical Assistant program or one year of clinical experience is required, with BLS to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program OR at least 1 year of clinical experience.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms and obtain initial information and vital signs.
• Prepare exam rooms for physicians with clean, stocked supplies.
• Assist with and/or perform exams, tests, and procedures.
• Schedule appointments and manage referrals.
• Assist providers during exams and procedures.
• Educate patients on follow-up expectations.
• Maintain quality control testing logs as required.
• Ensure all medical equipment is functioning properly.
• Assist with medical documentation and office tasks including phones, messages, data entry, and deposits.
