Job summary

Equiliem is seeking an experienced Travel Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment in Alexandria, LA. The role features a 6:1 patient ratio in a 36-bed MS/Telemetry unit, with a night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) and a fast-paced hospital setting.

Ideal candidates will have MS/Telemetry experience, strong assessment skills, and proficiency with Meditech EMR. Certification in BLS and ACLS is required, with RN licensure active in the state.

Qualifications

• RN license (Active)
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Medical-surgical and telemetry experience preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and multitasking abilities

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care on a 6:1 patient ratio for medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Monitor vital signs, assess patient status, and document responses to treatment
• Monitor telemetry and respond to changes in cardiac rhythms
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products per protocols
• Perform wound care, VAC management, PCA pumps, chest tubes where applicable
• Operate IV pumps, bladder scanners, EKGs, BiPAP, enteral feeding pumps, and related equipment
• Document care plans and patient progress in Meditech EMR
• Float to other MS/telemetry units as needed and educate patients/families
