Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN with 2+ years of recent experience and prior travel assignment history for a 13-week day shift contract.

The role requires an active TN or compact RN license, BLS and NIHSS, and prior travel experience. Responsibilities include overflow Med/Surg Tele care, 1:6/7 patient ratios, and a transition to team-nursing with LPN support. Work 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, 3x12s, with on-call and weekend shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (TN or compact) per NLC guidelines; pending licensure not accepted.
• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience; 3+ years preferred.
• At least 1 completed prior travel assignment.
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required.
• Cerner EMR experience preferred.
• Driver's license copy required for consideration.
• Vaccination status required for consideration.
• ADN accepted for this position.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Tele unit functioning as overflow for post-surgical and observation patients.
• Patient ratio of 1:6/7.
• Unit transitioning to a team nursing model with LPN support.
• Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM.
• On-call required; weekend shifts as needed.
• May float between units and campuses within a 20-mile radius.
• Provide direct patient care on overflow unit for post-surgical/observation cases.
• Holiday coverage: must work 2 of 3 when all three holidays fall in assignment.
