Job summary

Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel assignment in Parkersburg, West Virginia. You will float across inpatient units based on competency, with 12-hour day or night shifts and a 48-hour weekly guarantee.

Unit ratios vary by specialty (Med-Surg 1:6, Stepdown 1:4–5, ICU 1:1–3). ACLS/BLS required; BSN not required. The role includes EPIC charting and no scheduled call; standby may occur during low census.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care across ICU/Stepdown/Med-Surg as needed.

• Adhere to 12-hour shifts and 48 hours per week schedule.

Travel RN – ICU / Stepdown / Med-Surg Float Pool

Job Highlights

• 12-hour shifts | 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• 48 guaranteed hrs/week
• Every other weekend
• Holidays as needed
• Float across inpatient units based on competency
• EPIC charting
• Royal blue scrubs
• No scheduled call; standby possible during low census

Unit / Patient Ratios

• Med-Surg: 1:6
• Stepdown: 1:4–5
• ICU: 1:1–3
• Patient populations: Cardiac, Ortho, Neuro, Surgical & Medical

Requirements

• Med-Surg experience required
• Stepdown experience preferred

• Must be comfortable floating between units within competency

Clinical Skills / Equipment

• Drip titration in Stepdown
• Common drips: Heparin, Cardizem, Nitro, Cardene, Insulin, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Esmolol, Lidocaine, and others
• CPAP / BiPAP across all units
• Ventilators in ICU; chronic trach vents may be in Stepdown
• Telemetry monitoring with monitor tech support
• CVU nurses interpret their own telemetry strips

Staffing / Support

• 24/7 House Supervisor
• Free Charge RN on weekday day shifts
• Nursing assistants available
• Existing float pool of 9 RNs with PCT float support

Additional Notes

• Daily unit assignment provided through staffing office
