Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. The right RN should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience. The assignment is 13 weeks, 36 hours per week, with 12-hour day shifts under a Travel Employment Type.

Responsibilities include bedside care, medication administration, wound care, charting, patient education and discharge planning, in a fast-paced MedSurg setting. Certifications such as BLS/NIH/ACLS may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educates patients on surgical procedures.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
