TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Tyler, Texas. The assignment is 13 weeks with 36 hours per week, on a night shift.

This travel role requires RN in Med Surg/Telemetry with 1–2 years of acute care experience and standard nursing certifications. The position involves bedside care, medication administration, wound care, IV starts, and patient/family education, with emphasis on discharge planning and education as prescribed by physicians.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience.
• BLS certification required.
• NIH certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan.
