Job summary

TotalMed is seeking a Medical Surgical RN for an immediate travel assignment in Nacogdoches, TX. This 13-week travel position requires 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and offers 12-hour night shifts with a 36-hour work week.

The RN will perform assessments, document findings, manage medications, dressings, caths, IVs, and participate in discharge planning while educating patients and families. BLS and additional certifications may be required before starting.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• 1 year of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during examination and treatment.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures and discharge plans.
