Job summary

Healthforce is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Med Surg travel assignment in Hilo, Hawaii. Start date is 09/14/2026 with a 13-week contract in a medical unit, nights allowed. 36 hours per week after orientation; hours may vary and shift length/days may change. Potential floating to Laulima or Cardiovascular units as needed.

Requirements include Hawaii RN license active by start date, BLS and ACLS, and 2–10 years med-surg nursing experience. Travel staffing support and unit orientation provided.

Qualifications

• Hawaii RN license active by start date.
• Two to ten years of med-surg nursing experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care for adult medical-surgical patients.
• Perform initial assessments, monitor vitals, administer meds, document in EMR.
• Manage IV therapies and related devices; operate Pyxis for meds.
• Collaborate with care team to update patient care plans; educate patients and families.
• Monitor for changes, escalate as needed; ensure clear handoffs during shifts.
• Maintain infection prevention practices; rotate across units.
