Job summary

TotalMed is seeking a Med Surg / Telemetry RN for a travel assignment in Bluffton, IN. The position requires 1–2 years of recent acute care, night shifts, and 12-hour shifts with a 36-hour week. This travel role offers a 13-week contract with benefits and a tax-free stipend.

As a MedSurg RN, you will perform bedside assessments, administer medications, assist with procedures, educate patients and families, and participate in discharge planning, all in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Additional certifications may be required before starting

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient
• Educates patients on surgical procedures
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician
