Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Pocatello, Idaho. The Med Surg RN will perform assessments and deliver bedside care in a fast-paced acute care setting, collaborating with physicians to ensure quality patient care.

This 13-week assignment requires 1 year of acute care experience, BLS, 12-hour night shifts, and a 36-hour workweek. Travel RNs may handle pre- and post-op patients and participate in discharge planning and patient education.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• 1 year acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for pre- and post-op patients and general Med Surg cases.
• Administer, record and monitor prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Insert catheters, start IVs and prepare equipment for procedures.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and post-care.
• Assist physicians during examinations and treatments; document findings.
• Participate in discharge planning and patient education as prescribed.
