Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Des Moines, IA. The right RN should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience and will conduct patient assessments with data collection based on immediate needs.

As a MedSurg RN, you will document findings, provide education to patients and families, and perform duties including bedside care, medication administration, dressings, catheters, and IV starts. Weekly pay and benefits accompany this travel opportunity.

Qualifications

• 1 year acute care experience
• BLS and NIH certifications required

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of Med-Surg patients, including pre- and post-op cases.
• Administer prescribed medications and document administration while monitoring for adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, assist with catheters and IVs, and prepare equipment for doctor examinations.
• Support discharge planning and educate patients and families as prescribed by physicians.
